5 Day Uganda Gorilla Tour

This exciting 5 Day Uganda Gorilla Tour through Uganda’s natural wonders begins with arrival at Entebbe International Airport. A company guide then transfers you to your hotel, where you can relax and enjoy leisure before a long scenic 9-hour drive. Deep in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you’ll see lush tropical rainforests, open savannah grasslands and terraced hills dotted across Kigezi’s landscape. The next day dedicates to gorilla tracking with local experts providing etiquette instructions before entering the dense forest in search. With luck finding gorillas, you get an hour to observe and photograph the family up close.

After the tracking, a drive transports to Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha region wilderness camp. An evening game vehicle safari across the Albert flats plains promises wildlife sightings as the sun sets. On the next day, you search for rare tree-climbing lions and visit local handicraft workshops. The Mpambire drum makers showcase their skills along the route passing the Equator landmark. Finally, comfortable park lodges and delicious meals throughout conclude with a transfer flight home. Memories will remain of Uganda’s breathtaking natural beauty on this unforgettable adventure tour.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be received and transferred to your Hotel by our company representative. Check in and have a day at leisure.

Day 2: Entebbe – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The driver guide will pick you up from your Hotel in Entebbe and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is a long day drive of approximately 9 hours with a lunch stopover en route. Though long the drive takes you through different features to include tropical rain forests, savannah fields and the terraced hills of Kigezi famously known as the Switzerland of East Africa. Arrive in the late evening for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Safari Camp / Mahogany Springs / Gorilla Bluff Lodge

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, and our packed lunch, we then take a short drive to the park headquarters for briefing where we meet the excellent local guides and trackers who give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. We then trek into the forest to a spot where gorillas were last seen the previous night and track from there. Trekking may take anything between 1 to 6 hours depending on the family and altitudes which is more than 7500 feet. The terrain is rough and muddy calling for physical fitness. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery makes the trekking worthwhile. Once the Great Apes (Gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world). It is recommended that you take plenty of water with you on the trek. Non-flash cameras and plenty of fast-speed films are recommended. Being a tropical rain forest, it may rain at no notice, hence need to bring with you waterproof clothing, including zip-lock bags for cameras and film. Others to come with include sturdy hiking boots, long pants, gloves and a raincoat. Maximum time spent with the gorillas is 1 hour.

Day 4: Bwindi – Ishasha Sector Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to the Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The said section is gifted with rare tree-climbing lions among others.
Afternoon relax at the wilderness Camp deep in a natural African atmosphere then take an evening game drive to the Albert flats. If lucky you may encounter a python in search of prey.

Day 5: Ishasha – Entebbe

Today we check out and go for a morning game drive in search of tree-climbing lions. We then proceed to Mbarara where we stop over for lunch. Visit the local craft shops, Mpambire drum shops and the Equator along the way. Drive to the Airport for your outbound flight.
