This 6 Day Uganda Gorilla Expedition unveils an unforgettable experience among several of the country’s most magnificent natural reserves and parks. The journey begins in Entebbe before a transit to Queen Elizabeth National Park unveils a phenomenal variety of creatures including lions, elephants, buffaloes, primates and over 611 recorded types of birds. A game drive and cruise down the Kazinga Channel allows sightings of added wildlife.
The venture then heads to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where trekkers have the probability to track gorillas through dense woodlands. Though the hike may persist between one to six hours, many describe the encounter as the most profound natural history experience globally. Optional is a game drive hoping to glimpse the unusual tree-climbing lions in Ishasha.
Ultimately arrives Lake Mburo National Park with evening and dawn game drives to watch various creatures such as zebras, impalas and buffalo. The excursion concludes with a return to Entebbe for international flight connections.

On arrival at the airport, you will be picked up by our company representative and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop over in Mbarara for lunch and then proceed to the park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is known to have more mammals than any other park in Uganda. The wildlife here includes both forest and savannah species for instance; Elephant, Buffaloes, Hippopotamus, Kobs, Warthog, a variety of primates like; Chimpanzee, olive baboons, red-tailed and vervet monkeys, predators like; Leopards, Lions, spotted Hyena and side-stripped Jackal. This park is also a birders paradise with over 611 recorded species. Lunch at Mbarara, then proceed to the park for an optional afternoon game drive.

After early breakfast, drive to the Kasenyi track via the Crater Lakes region with still dark lakes and rich grasslands set deep into volcanic craters to get to the Kob mating ground, this provides an excellent opportunity for viewing the lions. In the afternoon, take a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel for more game viewing and birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here you will choose either to go via Maramagambo Forest for a nature walk and visit the bat caves where you may observe thousands of bats within inches of their roosts and often pythons and monitor lizards poised to strike by the cave entrance or to go to Ishasha for a game drive in search for the unique tree climbing lions. Afternoon, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast, and our packed lunch, we then take a short drive to the park headquarters for briefing where we meet the excellent local guides and trackers who give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. We then trek into the forest to a spot where gorillas were last seen the previous night and track from there. Trekking may take anything between 1 to 6 hours depending on the family and altitudes which is more than 7500 feet. The terrain is rough and muddy calling for physical fitness. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery makes the trekking worthwhile. Once the Great Apes (Gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world). It is recommended that you take plenty of water with you on the trek. Non-flash cameras and plenty of fast-speed films are recommended. Being a tropical rain forest, it may rain at no notice, hence need to bring with you waterproof clothing, including zip-lock bags for cameras and film. Others to come with include sturdy hiking boots, long pants, gloves and a raincoat. Maximum time spent with the gorillas is 1 hour.

After breakfast, take a game drive to the Acacia Savannah. The game likely to be encountered include the Burshell’s Zebra, Topi, Impala, buffalo, and the beautiful Eland. After lunch at the camp, drive to Entebbe Airport for your International flight connections.
